Hot Air Balloon Adventure For Two
Enjoy a memorable 3–4 hour Virgin hot air balloon experience beginning with registration, a pilot safety briefing, and the chance to help inflate the balloon before takeoff.
You’ll then enjoy approximately one hour soaring peacefully above stunning landscapes in an iconic Virgin balloon, with plenty of opportunities for photos and scenic views.
After landing, celebrate with a Prosecco toast (or soft drink), help the crew deflate the balloon, and receive a commemorative flight certificate endorsed by Richard Branson. The experience concludes with transport back to the original launch site, leaving you with a unique and unforgettable adventure.

Estimated Duration: 3–4 Hours
What to expect:
Arrive at the launch site where you’ll be welcomed by the ground crew and pilot team. After registration, you’ll receive an overview of the morning or evening’s flight conditions while the team prepares the equipment.
Tip:
Dress comfortably in layers and wear flat shoes suitable for grassy fields.
Pre-Flight Briefing
What to expect:
Your pilot will explain the flight plan, weather conditions, safety procedures, landing position, and what the experience will involve from takeoff to landing.
You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and take photos while the balloon is being prepared.
Balloon Inflation Experience
What to expect:
One of the highlights of the day — watching the balloon come to life. Guests are invited to help inflate the balloon alongside the crew, giving you a hands-on introduction to ballooning.
As the burners ignite, you’ll feel the excitement build while the balloon gradually rises upright.
Takeoff & Flight (Approx. 1 Hour)
What to expect:
Once onboard, the balloon gently lifts off the ground for a peaceful and scenic flight. Unlike airplanes or helicopters, hot air balloons move smoothly with the wind, creating a calm and surprisingly quiet experience.
During the flight you can expect:
Panoramic countryside or city views
Excellent photo opportunities
Commentary and stories from your pilot
A peaceful atmosphere with occasional bursts from the burners
No two flights are ever exactly the same, making each journey unique.
Landing Celebration
What to expect:
After landing, the crew will meet the balloon and assist with packing it away. Guests are often invited to help deflate and fold the balloon.
You’ll then enjoy a celebratory Prosecco toast (or soft drink alternative) to mark your flight experience.
Certificate Presentation
What to expect:
You’ll receive a commemorative flight certificate signed by your pilot and endorsed by Richard Branson as a keepsake from the day.
Return Transport
What to expect:
After the celebration, transport will be provided back to the original launch site where the experience concludes.
Things To Know Before You Go
Flights are weather dependent and may be rescheduled for safety reasons
Expect standing for portions of the experience

This competition is open to UK residents (including Northern Ireland) who are 18 years or older.
You may enter this competition up to 50 times.
You will be randomly allocated your ticket number(s) when ordering and you will receive an email confirmation.

If all tickets do not sell out, the draw will happen on May 31, 2026 regardless.
You must answer the competition question correctly to be entered into the live draw. Incorrect entries will not be notified or entered into the live draw.
You may enter the competition online or for free by post by sending your entry to Ultimate Travel Competitions Ltd on a postcard. You must have an account on Ultimate Travel Competitions Ltd for your entry to be processed. All details on your entry MUST correspond to the details on your account to receive the order confirmation and ticket number. Postal entries received without a registered account cannot be processed.
The live draw will take place on the Ultimate Travel Competitions Ltd Facebook and Youtube pages (plus other various socials such as Instagram and ‘X’ where possible) for everyone to see. We use lottery style ball machines to randomly draw out numbers and determine the winning ticket number from all Entrants. If a technical fault should occur with our equipment we will use Google’s random number generator to determine the winner.
If fewer than 50% of the available tickets are sold, we will make up to three attempts to select a winner using our lottery-style ball machines. If all three attempts fail to produce a valid winner, we reserve the right to import the full list of competition entrants into GigaCalculator’s Random Picker tool and select a winner there. This tool is embedded on our website, and you can view it directly using the link below.
