The Ultimate Mothers day trip on the Northern Belle
Your day will begin with a red carpet welcome at your departure station where our attentive Stewards will usher you aboard the Northern Belle luxury train for a journey to remember forever. Once you’ve been escorted to your plush seat, one of our liveried Stewards will carefully pop your bottle of Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée Brut NV Champagne as you study celebrated Head Chef Matthew Green’s Afternoon Tea menu.
Ahead lies a journey back to the Golden Days of rail travel, a time when nothing was too good for the pampered passengers. Our Executive Head Chef and his team will already be hard at work in the kitchen carriage preparing your traditional afternoon tea. Each course boasts the finest seasonal ingredients from the British Isles, classic and innovative dishes are crafted in our recently refurbished kitchen carriage.
Indulge in delicate sandwiches, delicious cakes, home-baked scones with clotted cream and jam, mouth-watering pastries and of course, a pot of freshly-brewed Fortnum & Mason tea. Throughout your journey we whisk you back to a more gracious age with entertainment from strolling musicians and our own conjuror will stroll from table to table to baffle everybody with some of his mind-bending tricks.
Afternoon Tea
According to legend, a peckish Anna Maria Russell, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, started the trend around 1840 by inviting her aristocratic friends round for a cuppa. Then Queen Victoria gave the ritual her blessing and Afternoon Tea became part of the British way of life, with tea rooms springing up everywhere during the early 20th century.
Please note: The prize experience departs from Liverpool Lime Street Station, and the winner will need to arrange their own travel to and from the station.
This competition is open to UK residents (including Northern Ireland) who are 18 years or older.
You may enter this competition up to 250 times.
You will be randomly allocated your ticket number(s) when ordering and you will receive an email confirmation.
The total amount of tickets for this competition is (1999).
If all tickets do not sell out, the draw will happen on March 1, 2026 regardless.

The live draw will take place on the Ultimate Travel Competitions Ltd Facebook and Youtube pages (plus other various socials such as Instagram and ‘X’ where possible) for everyone to see. We use lottery style ball machines to randomly draw out numbers and determine the winning ticket number from all Entrants. If a technical fault should occur with our equipment we will use Google’s random number generator to determine the winner.
If fewer than 50% of the available tickets are sold, we will make up to three attempts to select a winner using our lottery-style ball machines. If all three attempts fail to produce a valid winner, we reserve the right to import the full list of competition entrants into GigaCalculator’s Random Picker tool and select a winner there. Instant win prizes are included as part of the main prize competition, which will be drawn in accordance with the procedures described above. Alongside your entry into the main draw, you also have the chance to win cash or site credit if any of the ticket numbers allocated to you match a pre-determined instant win list.
